I have been working on a big home that has five bedrooms with king sized beds in each room and a bunk room. Being 36 and one of the only single adults in a very big family I am often relegated to the "bunk room" due to the fact that I am not married. For this reason I have become extremely sensitive to how bunk rooms are designed. Most clients assume these rooms will only be used for children. Sometimes (if you are 36 & single!) that is not the case. I have made sure the bunk room I am working on has top of the line mattresses, feather beds, down pillows, heights in between the bottom and top bunk are adult friendly and full sized mattresses on the bottom. Bring on the bunks - I'd be happy to kennel up in this room!

Romancing the White...

How romantic is this setting? Wouldn't you love to be the hostess of this party? Or even a guest for that matter. The white table cloths with the candlelight under the huge canopies of the trees make for such a lovely set-up. I hope I'm invited!

I hope all had a wonderful weekend! I am dealing with some computer issues so will be a bit behind on my blogs this week, but I will be certain to play catch up next week...

I always enjoy a nice swimming pool to cool off during the hot Texas summers. There are so many ways to work a good pool design into a yard. The ambiance that the reflection of the water adds is both soothing and exciting. And just the thought of cooling off in a perfectly chilly pool. Ahhh!

I hope everyone had a happy weekend...

I so enjoy seeing fun patterns on the floor. Floor tiles are a wonderful way to acquire this look. They are very functional in rooms because they giving the effect of a patterned rug, but they are a much easier surface to clean without much worry of staining.

Happy weekend wishes to everyone!...

Have a little summer fun - paint your front door in a high gloss enamel color. I probably would not actually want to have my front door painted in a color other than a neutral color, but for those of you who are a little more adventurous I think it could be a fun alteration and pretty non-committal being that the space is so small. Often I paint the interior of the exterior door in the same color and finish to give the space a little pop. I use a paint used on cars which makes for a very good element protector. Or you could just enjoy the pictures ;)

Enjoy your weekend! It is beautiful where I am...

Chinosierie - ahhhh. The word just makes me swoon. It is so eloquent and just sounds glamorous. I have always loved the timeless look of most chinosierie pieces, especially hand-painted wallpaper. The amazing craft and attention to detail to this day blows my mind. It would be, for me, a total luxury!

It's the weekend - yay!
