Animal print carpet on the stairs - yes, please! The designs are so fun, yet repetitive enough not to be too busy. It can read either bold or subtle, depending on the pattern and shade, but it is definitely going to read as individual! I would not be afraid to throw some of that down my stairs.

What a fun extra part to have to decorate! Stairs just give you that extra little bit to play with and are an excellent way to lift the eyes upwards. I always wrap my banisters in garland and add ornaments, but there are obviously so many more options to individualize your space - candles, draping garland, hanging Christmas cards, crepe paper bells, hanging stockings, hanging white lights (how fine is that image?!).

Stairs are so underrated when it comes to design. They can pack such a punch and usually are in a visual focal point in the house. Traffic obviously has to be a huge consideration when choosing how to dress yours, but many options deceptively hide more dirt and foot traffic than you would actually assume. Although sometimes slippery, my favorite for price-point, durability and a timeless look is seagrass, but with money not being an option (right!). I could really go nuts in some of my choices. Stripes, repetitive patterns, a cool weave - the list goes on and on...
