Dark Door Wreaths...

via Rue

Well, it is that time of the year again - yippee!
Hmmm, these shots sort of make me want to advise all of my clients to paint their doors dark?  The wreaths look so sophisticated on the back drops that are sombre.  Uh oh - Christmas is going to add up again this year - and it is not the gifts that may be increasing that number.  Rather some home make-overs ;)

Happy Monday!...

The wreath. Isn't the circle that continues the perfect symbol of Christmas? There are so many different fun ways to express the joys of the season of Christmas with a wreath - pine cones, boxwoods, pictures, berries, feathers or even starburst mirrors as Suzanne Kasler does! You can spend an arm and a leg or save some money and pull out the glue gun and floral wire. Either way the expression is synonymous with the season and I am all about them!

Happy wreathing!...

Where would we be without Martha Stewart???? I'm pretty sure she actually invented the wreath ;) That is a joke - haha! I hope everyone is getting into the festive holiday spirit. If you did your homework the night before last you should have the garland swagged around your door by now! Next step - wreath. There are so many options out there. Have fun exploring!

I'm off to Gotham for the weekend and will be back Sunday with some fun NYC posts.

I have so much fun decorating for Christmas! It makes me very giddy to see all the lights and decor throughout town. The creative ways people come up with to show their holiday spirit never cease to amaze me. The front door is obviously a visual focal point for the outside of your home. I often opt for simplicity with a simple garland and some white lights. Some of these pictures represent decorators who have more than 24 hours in their day, but I can promise if I did I would go nuts with the magnolia leaves, pine cones, and whimsically shaped wreaths!
Happy door decorating!...
