Shelves are such an important part of decorating. I am always very up-front about the necessary cost of accessorizing and lighting from the beginning of a project. In a perfect world all shelves would be filled with books that have been personally picked out or gifted to the client along with items that each hold their own special meanings showcased in shelves that take years to curate. The point would be to fill your shelves with items that make you smile each time you walked by and something special caught your eye.

Happy weekend wishes to everyone - it is going to be a cold one here. I may stay in and work on perfecting my shelves!

I heard a fabulous lecture by Robyn O'Brien last night at the charming independent Brazos Bookstore in Houston. Her book, The Unhealthy Truth, is next on my reading list. She has some haunting statistics about the food America consumes and what we can do to make a difference in ensuring the safety of our food supply for the future.

Something about January always gives me the ammunition to organize. I am not a strong believer in New Year's resolutions, but I think the fact that Spring is right around the corner always makes me want to lighten my load and make sure everything is in its place. A Good Starting Point...

A new year - a new blog.

I have admired so many wonderful blogs and with a little nudging from my more tech-savvy little sister Emily, I have finally committed to "taking the plunge." I have been considering it for quite some time now and figured the new year would be a sensible time to begin my project.

Being driven by my passion for design I want to be able to share beautiful images and ideas with those who may come across my posts. Often I find it inspiring and relaxing to be able to look at all the visual content on different blogs.

I am very excited to begin this project and I hope that everyone finds as much enjoyment from my posts as I have found from other's.

Being a blog novice, I am certain that I do not have all of the credits for the images I will be posting, but I will do my best to give credit where credit is due.
